Hi all.

Here is this Thursday's trip.

Trip: Ogof Nadolig (Christmas Cave)

Trip Type: Surveying practice

Cave Attributes: 30ft vertical descent by the ungated entrance with a knotted rope. 30 foot maypole descent entrance via the gated entrance. 2 levels of cave, Very squeezy and sporting in places, evidence of mining activity.

Meet point: Cilcain bridge - then bundle into the fewest amount of cars and drive down the road to Nadolig.

Google Map Link: goo.gl/maps/TO8TO

Meet time: 6.30pm

Nadolig is a cracking little cave which although short in length provides quite a diverse range of passages to negotiate.

I thought you were fairly techno-geeky ant? Does surveying not interest you?
The trees have ears, the hills have eyes. Trust no one... but the sheep.

It does, it's just the choice of location that's the problem! or is this area your going to nice and roomy?

And by nice and roomy I mean over 6 ft high and 6 ft wide ;)

Watched Tony's vid of Nadolig earlier, put me right off going in there again.

Basically access is not possible. To the tunnel although you can visit connected systems. We cannot enter the tunnel as this would jeopardise any current and future access

The glan is  Glan Y Afon Inn, Dolphin, Milwr, Holywell, Flintshire CH8 8HE It's the easiest place to meet us as we are usually in there every Thursday night.

New members are always welcome at UCET, if you and the other 2 you mention are free Thursday 16th it may be possible to arrange a beginners trip.

By the way, have you/ your associates been underground before?

Hi again,

Yes OK I understand will have to pop along one day to the pub :)

Yes we have been underground before we have explored poachers cave and hendre spar mine on number of occasions and few other caves/mines  that have come across and we are looking to gain more experience plus none of us have SRT experience hopefully looking for to more knowledge on this subject.

Yes that would be great if we could arrange a beginners trip on the 16th? Where would you be thinking?

Regards steve

Spar mine and Poachers are UCET's classic beginners trip so we could take you somewhere a bit more challenging, or back to them, best wait and see what next week's trip is.
