this is a new one on me Ian it does not look like any one of the lids near the road and it is not a gcc one
or it would have had ladders down it. best bet would be someone from north wales caving club.

haha - he'd sent me a similar facebook message with same photos. i've just cut and pasted the same elsewhere on the forum! I've just been talking to Cris Ebbs and have sent the photos to him to see if he knows anything. If anyone does, he will! :-)

as here:

http://ucet.org.uk/index.php/forum/10-general-chatter-private/9078-enquiry#24347

from cris ebbs:
The shaft in the three photos is Marthas Shaft on Cefn-y-Gist vein. I can’t remember the depth, but it’s possibly 150ft or so..... but the ginging isn’t good. Not much down there to see though. There’s an adit driven towards the shaft under the road, although I don’t think it ever actually connected with the main workings, which were very limited in extent. The portal is north-west of the road and has run in,  but access is via a small hole down, right next to the road on the south-east side by a very small ‘lay-by’. The adit is blocked after 50 or 100 yards, and draughts (but only from an intermediate surface shaft.)
