I live minutes from this area, so it is my favourite area of mountainside.  Which way did you ascend? Gribbin Ridge?

We scrambled up Dolmen Ridge in the first photo John.

There is a cave marked on the north face of Gallt y Ogof ridge.  Has anyone explored it?

It is hideously difficult to get to .. I have tried but not managed to get at it. I am 90% sure it is nothing more than a large grotto though ....

Is it difficult to get to bcause the entrance is so small, or because it is up a steep incline?
I assume it is man made because there is no limestone in that area, but who would build a cave there?
I can't see any obvious signs of an addit.

Unless I am mistaken, a cave, however small, cannot be man made by definition.

Erm, well, I have never heard of a "man-made" cave but I guess you could argue one  :blink:

It's not small - it is very large and easy to see from the road as you drive past - it is on a very steep incline and it is also grassy preventing "climbing".
