of lugging my DSLR around, i've purchased a 4/3 system....

watch this space.

Interesting... why not NEX? APS-C size sensor, CSC size.

Either way, I'm curious as to what your new toy is.

the price of the body, and the price and choice of lens for the nex system.

i have my DSLR if i want to "go and take pictures" but i'll give this a go for general picture taking.

After a trip with this new camera, i'm impressed...

it's going to take a bit of getting used to, new camera, different buttons and so on, but for a first attempt, it went well..

Nice toy. One of the better CSC's. I did debate it, but opted for the NEX because of the sensor. You can get some nice glass for the EPL1 for very little coin, but You forgo autofocus/aperture. Adaptors for most mounts on fleabay.

to be honest, after using the camera i'll be buying the 7.5mm lens and thats it, the camera will be purely for exploring.

i'm impressed with the quality of the raw's

Can You post one up that's not important? I fancy taking a look, but You don't tend to see many underground shots in reviews...

It's a 2x crop factor isn't it?

V/M has a 4mb max file size, i'll try off my google mail account.

Ali Wiseman

Got it, cheers. Nicely done. I may have to reassign some pennies in that direction.

for what it cost i'm more than happy, with a bit of practice, working out how it reacts to different settings i recon i could get some fairly decent results.

you just have to remember it's a £100 compact not a £800 DSLR

the bonus is it's easier to lug about and if it gets broken, it's £100 not £800.

i did the CRTT trip with it out the full trip, just left it around my neck when doing the SRT bits, never put it back in my bag at all, thats how small and light it is.

Am i missing something? - what make/model?

I talked dan (the other dan) out of a dSLR and into a NEX6. Its definitely the way i'd be going if i was buying from scratch.

2 years from now i recon we'll have full frame compact system cams.

It's posted up there, an E-PL1 (Olympus) very cheap camera, which means there is a lot of button pushing, but the picture quality is as good as a slr (a mid range one anyway)
