OHA - Through the Sumps 2012!

I feel the need to have another trip through the sumps.....

I'm considering a possible date of 9th or 10th June. HOW ARE PEOPLE FIXED FOR EITHER OF THESE DATES??

This is a HARD SRT trip. The SRT part is straight forward enough but the trip itself is very physically draining.

The plan will be to try to make this trip as 'useful' as possible in terms of a bit of research. This will involve a surface crew (or crews) letting off some smoke bombs at various surface features in an attempt to learn more about the system.

I will be making at least one trip to the first sump sometime prior to this to set up the first siphon and reconfirm some wall markings to ensure that the level drops to the correct level. Almost certainly going down to Sump 1 on the thursday night (i.e. 7th June is we use above dates).

I'd like a team of around 4 (more is ok) to come through the sumps.

Another couple of people on the surface crew to investigate drafting, release smoke etc at known sinks in the River Alyn and also at either end of murphys pot. This will involve some careful timetabling and may require some sitting around above, and more importantly below ground.

I'll investigate options for the procurement of various colored smoke grenades.

When you say past the sumps, do you mean to the end of the system Tim? I'd quite like to give it a go

Edit: I'm at the Isle on Man Tt races that weekend . any chance it could be earlier or later in the month please Tim?

if you ask mick efin murphy thats what HE will tell you ( not that he's been through the bloody sumps).
 but there is ONE section thats like a clean yorkshire spot. it's about a metre square and thats it, the rest of the place is a s#it hole . use a figure8 as your cams get mucked up on your stop
