Steel pulley?

Display of ignorance: Is it just the group as a whole that needs this, or does everyone?

I think I know the answer but as I have never done anything involving one, I'd just like to make sure. And no, I don't have one of my own!
If you haven't got one then don't worry about it.

I'll bring a steel tandem pully for the ziplines and a thin cord to keep pulling it back for the next person. Most people don't have their own so its nothing to worry about.

I'll probably be doing some filming so will want time to set up my D7000 on tripod etc so if things are slowed down slightly by pulling the pully back across after each person then its no bother as it just gives me more time to faf about filming wise ;-)

this is what i'll be bringing.....

(not the cheapest place to get them - just the first link i found!)

They go like fook on steel ziplines - all'y ones just get wrecked and don't go very fast!

once you've been and got the hang of it there is nothing wrong with organising a trip your self.
you will aways get people wanting to do it

re:-steel pulley's i would class it as personal kit.
then you can keep track on it use or abuse

Im leading Derbyshire caving club around the back vein in Cwmorthin on the 14th April.

On Sunday 15th , they are going to do the CRTT, depending on numbers they might split into two smaller groups. You might me able to squeeze in on the CRRT trip Deano. Will ask Edd and make sure that it isn't going to be a problem.

Dean Wood

Awesome cheers Joel ! Keep me posted :D

Doug - You're in - as long as you promise to bring one of your super rubber rings (if you've still got them).

Can go on the roof rack if required - the ring i mean, not you.

Hopefully the 'raft' will be in a better state of repair than the 'bus' ;-)

JohnO is very kindly lending us some Bouyancy aids - even through he can't make it on the trip himself. If you've got your own then obviously bring that but there will be some spares for anyone who hasn't got one.

FYI
When we went to Rhosydd at the weekend we got through to Croeser and there was a dinghy all pumped up and ready to go.

yer theres 'normally' some in there but they often have more perforations than a tetleys tea bag!

The kinda - norm, is to take one in there in case. There used to be more than one boat crossing but it 'should' only be one (that you'll have seen) now that the bridge is re-erected.

Righto, the raft thing is still squashed in the bag since the last trip, hopefully it will still be ok.
