Its only a little rope to climb but worth it to see the winding gear.

I might take a drill and a few bolts in case speedy's peg is looking a bit worse for wear

Mate, if you could bring bolting gear, then that would be great. happy to share the load. One of us still has to go up the thing though to bolt the top . We could just draw straws... As far as I know, the rope is only secured to an old peg. I hope it's not one of the Speedy special black 11mm military rope as my descender hates the stuff :ohmy:

As per usual, on any weekend trip, i will be sporting a hangover. Don't think that I will make it up the hill with 50 metres of static rope in tow. Will just have to bring a fig 8 or something
