I thought it might be the one above Ogof Nadolig - can't work out where "path 67" is... but, it clearly hasn't collapsed recently anyway

Have a look on here
http://www.flintshire.gov.uk/wps/portal/english/services?WCM_GLOBAL_CONTEXT=/web+content/flintshire/english/services/100006/publicrightsofway/prow+-+maps+and+routes

If you right click on a path and wait a few seconds then the number pops up.

Path 67 is the one shown here

Les,

You have done it again .... is there no end to your talents ????

The "shaft" IS the one above Nadolig and is NOT a collapse but, rather, has existed there since the day it was built (or sunk!).  It is even marked on the map as such.

This kind of newspaper reporting and "busy body" interference is such a PAIN

Perhaps a letter to the newspaper and the councillor pointing out the error of their ways might be in order?
The "news" has found it's way to several papers/web sites

We had a look down the shaft in question and another a bit further from the path (about midway between the two shafts of Ogof Nadolig. The former is about 60'-70' deep and contains old coke cans, pair of shoes, crisp packets etc. The latter is about 50' deep and has an old dig and a few bats - so we didn't linger.

I began reading this article, but then stopped when I read the name 'Cllr Klaus Armstrong-Braun'.  I know him well from the days when I was a Green Party councillor, and we met at Green Party meetings.  He could be so embarrasing!  I expect he is just looking for things to make a fuss about so he is seen in the local papers.

Thanks Les W for the link to the Flintshire web opages with the definitive maps.  It is a fantastic site.  I have never seen such large scale maps openly copyable from the web. I wish Gwynedd did the same!

That bloke tries to be in the local paper every week mostly talking about trivial stuff like dog sh*t on shoes of pensioners who served in WW2 etc

Yes, Evan - thats absolutely KAB!  He was such a pain in meetings!

There is numerous open shafts up there, ive been up there, as im sure a few of you have. The one in the photo doesn't look new to me.

This has really annoyed me. The title should read

"fenced off shaft noticed by local councillor trying to get his name in the paper and increase his reputation with the local area".

May write to Cllr Klaus Armstrong Braun suggesting that he visit this local company Link as I'm sure that shaft has been there for quite a while.
