I like collecting shiny things :P

You can use it on single rope and I've read they're nicer than the I.D.

yer and i think you can also use them hand free - i.e. set the drag you want, let go and away you go - leaves you hands free for other things mid pitch - like err - i dunno!

That said i can think of a situation recently where hand free descender might have really helped someone in a tight spot....
