Just to show my face, I'm a new member based in South Wales but with a strong interest in all things to the North of the country. I discovered UCET after searching online for a mine near Rhaeadr Falls. Into exploring all kinds of underground and other derelict places but particularly those mining or defence related. I'm the useful practical type thanks to a background in mechanical engineering. I'm always up for a challenge, particularly if it can't be done. Keen to explore the North Wales mines and learn new things, I come with an array of useful gear, a certain way with words and a semi respectable storage capacity for cider. Also keen to meet suitable accomplices interested in exploring things nearer home, some previously explored by others, and some apparently not. Look forward to meeting some of you soon.

It was all looking so good until the mention of Cider! :-) I'm sure we'll turn you to a nice pint of Guinness soon enough! I've just updated your membership status on the forum.

if it's the flat dish water type cider you like you'll get on well with doug , he seems to like his cider warm(room temp) with bits of god knows what in it :S :S :S

Proper cider for me, not a glass of chemicals or stoat's pee! Have never tried Guinness, mentally scarred by stories from rugby trips involving excessive Guinness consumption - the phrase "arse like a blood orange" still generates sufficient fear to avoid the stuff entirely!

I feel I may need to learn the words of the Wurzel's hit "Drink up thee cider"

You never hear a cider drinker squealing on the throne, crapping something akin to a pineapple with an abundance of nutshells embedded in its skin. Real cider is the way forward!
