I will be keeping an eye on the river levels this week because of the snow melt, and rain. We may have to resort to a plan B in the same area.

Either Rhyd Alyn or Nadolig.

Could I also remind to bring harness/belt for life lineing on the ladder for poachers. You'll also need tails for Plan B

Gutted can't make this 1 have a review on new job interview.

Apologies, I’m not going to be able to make this because of the weather and work.

When you go to poachers, can you please write down the water level observations you make?

Since I found it to be flooded last year, I've been recording data each time I revisit so we can learn whether it is consistently flooding or draining back normally again.

I am just trying to gather data so we can ascertain whether the flooding continues to be a consistent issue, I believe something in the lower series has moved, so if you go to the lower series can you please get some photos?

I am also trying to get the following information, To find out if it is because of the anomalous flood conditions that had been around Cilain at the time.

last time I was there, it had drained even the lower series had drained, so I believe that if something has moved/blocked the lower series from draining, it will continue to flood in set conditions, but I think if it is not flooded then whatever the blockage was must have moved under the sheer pressure of the weight of the water.

This data will help us define and narrow down which conditions make it flood to the roof or whether it is back to draining normally in the lower series.

Much Appreciated
Thank You in Advance

There are many paths up the mountain, all leading in the same direction,

The one wasting time is the one who runs around the mountain, telling everyone that their path is wrong

Poachers was an active stream way from Dyers adit. We got as far as the far end of Isosceles passage before turning around, there was just enough head room to push on but the water was far to cold without a wet suit. The river levels were reading 0.94m at Rhydymwyn at 7pm last night. On 6/1/25 the water in the River Alyn was reading 1.5m at Rhydymwyn. I'm guessing a lot of this water was still in the system.

A bit more date from trips in 2024

17/3/24, Rhydymwyn level 0.7m, enough head space to get to the boss chamber.

15/5/24, Rhydymwyn level 0.68m, enough head room to get to the boss chamber.

15/9/24 Rhydymwyn level 0.58m, lower series explored, no water coming down the "waterfall".
