Howdy Doody,

Here are the details for our next Thursday night trip;

Garreg Boeth (Non-SRT)
Suitable for novices, this is a wander along the geologically wonderful passage of Garreg Boeth. You will first see Crinoids (if you don’t rush passed them), then interesting geological bands, then the sunken pit of “Stig of the dump”.  Beyond that are the sunken volcanoes of Atlantis. You will miss the underwater volcanoes unless the front person has the presence of mind to travel carefully through the water and not rake up a deluge of silt (and keep an eye open for them). Beyond all this you will be treated to winkle (nice use of a gender neutral word to keep us up to date) deep water and the final passage to the ground dropped shaft at the end.

Location : Garreg Boeth
Meet Place : Hendre
Meet Date : Thursday 13th October 2022
Meet Time : 6:30pm-6:45pm onwards
Requirements : Wellies, overalls, helmet, lamp, gloves.

Link to Parking  : https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.1995135,-3.208396,3a,75y,221.57h,72.04t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sfQO9J7HZ7KM2hI-L0IX2SA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?hl=en-GB

(The mine entrance is through the gate on the left and we have permission to park in there. Alternatively, park along the road)

Nearest Postcode : CH7 5QG

If you wish to go on this trip, please indicate on the UCET Forum thread. No worries if you don’t yet know.

Thanks !

See you soon…..

:)

Pretty sure winkle isn't gender neutral. I have never met a girl with a winkle...
(perhaps because I have never been to Thailand...)
I'm a very busy person

It's used commonly around North Wales Les ... the word is/was used to describe (derogatory) a male part which was unfairly compared to a female's similar/counter part when is was considered to be no bigger. Ergo, the term could apply to either sex.

Anyway, I am trying my best to promote the use of proper English language and not this new modern nonsense except when there is cause to be tongue in cheek.

Is anybody else interested in coming along on this trip?  Also is anybody else interested in the Christmas Do?  Interest seems to be drying up.

I had an email from Vikki, she said she is coming and would sort it out this week  :)

Other than that, I have sent two circulars out. There are some "regulars" who are missing and may well jump in at the last minute.

Only two people have emailed me to say they are unable to come.

Who’s got them?
There’s more planes in the sea than there are submarines in the sky
