UCET Trip Advisor

Howdy Doody,

Here are the details for our next Thursday night trip;

Susan’s Shaft & Mine
This is a trip down into Susan’s Shaft, descending around 50 metres (there is a rebelay) until the adit into the workings. A good old wander around an exploration of the underground will offer a chance for some great eyeball moments. A rare treat as this trip is not seen regularly with the UCET circulars.

Location : Susan’s Shaft
Meet Place : Parking in the country lane
Meet Date : Thursday January 13th  2022
Meet Time : 6:30pm-6:45pm onwards
Suitability : Suitable only for SRT Competent cavers
Requirements : Wellies, overalls, helmet, lamp, gloves, Full SRT Kit

Link to Parking:

Parking Note : You can see the “Public Footpath” sign hidden in the middle of the picture. There is also parking in the lane a little way behind the camera. The Nearest Postcode is CH7 5HR (this is a house, not the meet point but it is close by)

It would be helpful if you could let us know if you are coming  B)

Thanks !

See you soon…..

:)

Strangest public footpath I've ever seen. And I'm looking at the photo but can't see the sign. Guess it's on the other side of the obvious post.

just a quick update parking here on the map s difficult 1 car at most ,but if you carry on down the lane and turn left on the the main road that goes to the old quarry entrance you will see a footpath next to the 1st bungalow on your left plenty of parking here, follow the path until you see the marker tape i will have put up follow this to the entrance.
also 2 x 50 mretre ropes or 1 x 100 metre will be required for 2 people to descend and ascend at the same making it feel a good feel factor  just incase you were to have a bit of trouble or feeling lonely, mick

So only one rope is needed for a single person ? Do we get off at the very bottom or traverse the adit that is 3/4 down?
There’s more planes in the sea than there are submarines in the sky
