Hi folks,s

This weeks trip is to cabin shaft, Minera quarry.

SRT only required for the entrance.

MEET POINT:
a) Moors Inn car park, LL11 5YL for those on time or unsure of exactly where to go.
b) Maes - Y - Ffynnon Rd, Gwynfryn, Minera.  Drive to the very end of Maes - Y - Ffynnon Rd past all the cottages. Parking will be opposite the old weighbridge.

MEET TIME: Moors Inn car park: 6:30pm.
           Maes - Y - Ffynnon Rd: 6:45pm.

Equipment: SRT up and down gear, caving suit, gloves, wellies/boots, change of clothes, money for pub/kebab/chippy, helmet and lamp.

Can someone please ensure a rope is available please.

Depending on numbers, there may be an option to use an electron but this is primarily an SRT in and out trip.

It would be grateful to know if you are coming and what meet point you will be using.

Enjoy.

Regards, Steve.

Sadly, due to work, I won't be able to make this one.

There is a request for Belgrave - the lowest level. It means (specifically) rigging an electron in the shaft nearest the entrance on the lower accessible adit OR rigging up the full through trip. The former is enough ....

It does need at least one person competent to set up that ladder (and bring it obviously).

One of the new four lads (two have joined, two are yet to do so) - It's one of the two yet to do so. He has asked about joining but hasn't done so yet.

At SRT last night, cabin shaft was voted in as somewhere the newer ones had not been and to use the rope in and out. Could do this with belgrave though and have the through trip?

Bit thick, but does rope in and out mean SRT and if so is it straight forward enough for me to do please (no practice for an age!)?  If not I'll dig at Dougs if that's on offer.  Ta

Working the next two Thursdays I'm afraid.  Don't know about the 11th April as I may want to get down to Gloucestershire then but I will be at the AGM on Sunday 14th.

I'd be up for Cabin shaft :-) so that's where my vote goes :-)
The trees have ears, the hills have eyes. Trust no one... but the sheep.

Don't think I'll be out

If it is Minera I probably won't be going t' pub.

I *might* manage to get to Minera for cabin shaft - probably won't make the pub. I'll confirm tomorrow lunchtime by posting on this thread.

If I go I could rig for SRT and also ladders. I can probably bring a spare harness or two but probably wouldn't have more than one spare set of SRT gear. I'll try and get there early to rig everything and get back to the car park to meet people at 18.30. This would be a quick trip around the nearby bits - route to Grand Turks - back of Boundary shaft etc. There are some areas I haven't explored - so it would be good to have someone who knows other interesting areas (I think there is an upper chamber with some galena which I haven't found yet...)
