Hi all

Elaine Whybro & some friends are doing a fundraising walk for NWCRO up Snowdon on 1st September.  Details below at

If you could e-mail it to others or share on social media that would be great.

If you also fancy joining in on the walk then equally great â€" just let Paul know on ‘chairman@northwalescro.org.uk’

P.S.  Any news on a donation from UCET?

Thanks

Sadly, my days of walking "down" mountains are over. The last attempt was Snowdon and I didn't get down without considerable help.

I did click your link to make a donation but it isn't yours (wrong link?) so I held off.

On the UCET donation issue .....

There were two proposals;

1) To make a contribution each year as the other clubs do (£20)
2) To cough up "backpay" for missed years

I am sure we all have an opinion ....

I would be happy for UCET to match the other clubs. I would suggest the right time to do this is at the AGM but would be happy to do so now in lieu.

I think a "back payment" is a mistake though. In my eyes I would see it as an admission of guilt (in not sending money earlier). Personally, I had no idea that other clubs were doing this. I also know from my time at the CCC That NWCRO don't "need" the money. I don't think the club has done anything "wrong"

Also, I know that Ade (Treasurer)has been unable to transfer the control and, at the moment, we have no ability to sign out money (no bank authorisation).

If others think we should go ahead then I would not oppose it.

The link is for Elaine's Page (Isn't she off t'wireless?)

I agree that UCET should really fall in line with the Annual £25, but I think you are correct about the back payment, as the club doesn't technically "owe" the money.  All one off donations would of course be welcome though  ;)

It's interesting that you don't think NWCRO "need" any money??   Perhaps we should have a natter "off air" sometime

I too think we should get into line with the other clubs and can start with our £25 for this year as it will hardly break the bank.  When I asked in the pub whether it had been done (as raised in my Thai rescue thread) I was told there isn't a consensus, although no objections have been raised!

I don't recall any mention of back pay and agree we don't owe any.

Sponsoring the walk seems a good way of making an individual contribution if wished.

I'd also emailed Paul Whybro to ask for clarification of their financial position i.e. do they need dosh or not, but got no reply; it could be the address was wrong though as I half guessed it (but it did send).  By the fact of his wife fundraising though, that would seem to imply they could do with some money, and Sweetie's part of the gang saying they do!
