Last orders

Make me a coffin of wicker please, made with precision and pride
long enough, with a well fitting lid, and handles on each side

line the inside with something nice, Ill be in it for quite a while
so a cheerful colour and pattern, something to make me smile

I'd like some kind of  mattress, and a pillow for my head
so that I can be comfortable, while I get used to being dead

boredom could be a problem, some puzzles would be good
and perhaps a little pen knife so I can whittle things from wood

oh and can I have a telephone, if you would be so kind
with some numbers on the speed dial, in case I change my mind.

You won't be going yet I have something to tell
meet me at the church yard there lies the door to hell
we will share a joke, i'll have a smoke and you can drink as well
and when last orders ring we can both burn your box
and have our final caving trip, together before the last gate locks....(steadfast together in life and death)
