I talked dan (the other dan) out of a dSLR and into a NEX6. Its definitely the way i'd be going if i was buying from scratch.

2 years from now i recon we'll have full frame compact system cams.
NEX 6 is veery nice. As for full frame CSC, an NEX has been rumoured for a bit, and will likely surface this year... not that I could afford it.

it would never take off..

toggers spending the kind of money it will be, will want a real looking/feeling camera, no matter how good the compact is..

it's like the nex 6 and SLT-a57, they are both the sake spec (ish) yet the nex is £100 more expensive, you're getting less camera, for more money, makes no sense.

Size, and register distance. For the people who use manual lenses (lots of video guys, and a fair amount of stills), the ability to add a huge array of lenses, with a simple, cheap adaptor, is immense. I know a fair amount of people ready to drop £1K on the body.

but you can use a simple cheap adaptor on the FF dslr (slt) body, and as the nex and slt range share the same sensors, i'm guessing the FFD will be the same.

to be fair, anyone willing to drop a grand (a full frame nex will be closer to £2k though) on a body isnt worrying about spend money on decent glass.

if you look at the nex 6 which is about the same as a A57, it's £100 more.

the nex 7 which is a A77 (ish) the nex is £70 more.

the a99 which is the full frame SLT is £1800, now sony made a full frame compact, the RX1 which is £2400, but you cant even change the lens, you're stuck with a 49mm prime. when the FF nex comes out, you will be looking at a minimum of £2k without a shaddow of a doubt, i also guarantee it would take E mount lenses, it will take the A or AF mount and i bet it will only take the s3c chipped lenses like the SLT cameras, there will be no using old manual focus lenseson it.
