One of the things I picked up from Elsie Little's presentation is that the Legal term 'cave' applies to any hole in the ground made by natural processes OR made by mankind or any other creature and abandoned.
I also notice several caves marked on OS maps which when examined are entirely man made.  I assume that it is for this reason that the term 'cave' is used in the proposed agreement to include any hole in the ground, be it formed by natural processes or by mining operations.
