Forgotten how.  I could do with being removed as an admin too as it's one less person to "point the finger" at when posts get deleted and the forum fucks up  :P

I will post more details for Thursday in the seedy section
Trips, multiple options none official until someone actually tells me what to tell you. seems you could do the following.

1. Save yourself the hassle by staying at home
2. Save yourself the hassle and just go the pub
3. Help do some poking with some poky things in a secret location.
4. Find out what Murf is doing and help him.
5. Visit the sea level tunnel with others who shall inevitably be poking around with a dodgy locomotive and or hanging around doing "something" with ladders.
As 'trip organisor', how about suggesting some trips for Thursday nights on the Friday so that by Monday you will have a general concensus of people's wish so you can put that trip out. I.E, Belgrave or Maeshafen.

We all know how much has been done in R.A. but there is still much more to do for the benefit of everyone who visits there so it goes without saying that will be a regular trip but it does not stop others from going elsewhere.  Not everyone can make every trip and some will be quitely working on surface finds, etc but again, for the benefit of the club and wider caving community. By getting a couple of suggestions out early, by Tuesday you should, in theory, be able to put an 'official' UCET trip out to all members.  There are people trying hard to keep the club going by putting the suggestions in and ACTIVELTY doing something on the back of said suggestions.

We shall see you underground Thursday Ant. Will check forum Wednesday am then let you know which trip to put out!!

Keep smiling!?

I just love all the positive vibes that ooze out from some of the members !!!
Club night is Thursday as a rule so if members want to contribute I suggest they make the effort to turn up once in a while  and have an input. Seems to be the same reliable few every week.
For the odd few who can only post negative comments about trips on the forum, I would suggest they save themselves the hassle of posting crap on the forum and stay at home.

ggrrr grrr!!!

I.E, Belgrave or Maeshafen.  Yes, that is what I was doing, asking for suggestions friday (or as early as I could remember), typically no suggestions would be forthcoming by Wednesday so somthing had to be posted. only to discover seconds later that you had seemingly all decided to go somewhere or do somthing without telling me.

We all know how much has been done in R.A. but there is still much more to do for the benefit of everyone who visits there so it goes without saying that will be a regular trip but it does not stop others from going elsewhere. I've nothing against people working on a specific project that's their choice. It's the way everyone gets drawn into doing the same thing because it's where certain people are going all the time that's the issue

Not everyone can make every trip and some will be quitely working on surface finds, etc but again, for the benefit of the club and wider caving community. Nothing wrong with induviduals doing induvidual stuff

By getting a couple of suggestions out early, by Tuesday you should, in theory, be able to put an 'official' UCET trip out to all members. Think I've explained the problem in another point.

There are people trying hard to keep the club going by putting the suggestions in and ACTIVELTY doing something on the back of said suggestions.  but few to none of these suggestions make it to me

We shall see you underground Thursday Ant. No you will not

Will check forum Wednesday am then let you know which trip to put out!! kind of pointles as I'm sure somone will have already have contacted everyone without tellimg me before then.

Keep smiling!? FUCK THAT
Fair play Ant, to my mind you've made some very valid points both about trips and how you tried to manage them, I do agree with you.

However, as others have said, I think it's a case of acknowledging that some people will always do their own thing whether for self or club interest (and that includes accommodating newbies and other clubs), very few paid up members actually come out or express an interest in anything (whether the same or different), and those of us left seem daft enough to go with the flow.

It's a good thing to have aspirations to improve the club, sadly it won't be through boycotting it.  So as you obviously have some passion, come back to the fold and try to see what else, if anything, may be done! xxx

PS I'll be at the car park especial for Steve circa 6.45, wahoo!!!  (He will be safe!).
And if this debate continues, shall we move it to the appropriate debating section - that's 'trips' not 'me and Steve'! - taken so long I can't even remember what section this is, doh

Come to the pub at least Ant. The club has a great dynamic of different people with a different take/level of interest in the underground world.  That is what makes the club great.

It is also a club where you can trust no-one above ground but trust them with your life underground.

It is the mix of people that make the club so special and enjoyable.

Catch you later folks.

The next trip I will be able to make will be Thursday 2nd November.  I will be in the Dales over the next two weekends.
