I will be coming along on Thursday.  I will be bringing a magnet to fish out that selfie stick I dropped down that pit below the 8th ladder unless somebody else retrieved it last Thursday!

Tim,

I know (at least) that Ade is a member - he can't see the members section where this trip is listed. I don't know about others .... can you check with Tom (Secretary) and upgrade as appropriate pls?

Hi all

I'm new to the forum, and I'm not a paid up member of UCET, but what are the chances of a stranger, an outsider like myself tagging along on this trip??

This trip involves patches of water around knee deep a little crawling with 1 tight bit a lot of stooping and loads of ladders, if you are happy to negotiate that, then you will be welcome, in fact you would be welcome regardless.

hi harris
as we  don't know your personal ability it would be a good idea to give us a heads up on you , this trip is 400ft of ladder down (obv) and then back up again ((also obv).

Hello again
Yes a little about me, good idea. Well at the begining of summer, just gone, it was decided I needed to
get in/keep myself in good heath. While looking around for rock climbing gear/info I stumbled on this site.
The knowlegde Bank was to become a brilliant source of information and changed my future endeavour from climbing to
cave/mine exploration, much more my cup of tea.

My first trip was down Penarth Mine with a torch and a hydration pack, it was fantastic down
there and I went down again the following week for a better look around, only with two torches this time (backup).

I have been in Belgrave Mine, twice in the Spar Mine in Hendre and took a trip around Moel Fferna Slate mine.
All three mines were great exploring but I wasn't able to complete Moel Fferna think I did three levels, before my
hunger was too much to ignore. Didn't complete Belgrave either because I don't yet have a headlamp and I
figure srt work  would have been more difficult without one.

I'm by no means an expert at srt, only what I have learned when possible over the summer. Some of my kit I is
more associated with rock climbing than cave/mine exploration. Dynamic rope, grigri, petzl hand ascender and climbing harness, petzl reverso. I have since bought a Stop, and will be getting a caving harness and headlamp. I will be investing
in cave clothing too.

Don't mind stooping, crawling, climbing up and down ladders, or water.

Well, thats me since the beginning of the summer, and what a brilliant time spent in mines.
Need to take it to another level now, 450ft down preferably.
