As all the water in Wales is currently frozen our canoe trip weekend is in need of an alternative so I plan to take a few guys down Cwmorthin Mine on Saturday, if any one would like to join us please post a message on here and I will get back to you with details

Does anyone know if the top car park is open and are there any major change inside?

Thanks

John.

if by top carpark you mean the one up the hill, just before the metal gates, yeh thats open, or it waslast weekend.

there are no major changes inside, or there wasnt the last time i was there, other than to the entrance which has been extended outwards, the gate has also been "fixed" to stop people lifting it off..

looks like miles/marty have had a lot of work on their hands..

I may be interested if my other plan falls through

You are more than welcome to join us, but you will have to take full responsibility for Amy and I can't guarantee I wont get lost   Can you also put you contact details in the private section, I case of any last minute change.

Yep, that's fine John. My contact details are in the private section contacts page, think they are the last ones posted.

We'll meet at the mine cafe, I should be there for between 10.30 - 10.45. I'll be in a black Fiesta.

Any suggestions as to what is best to wear. Not done a slate mine before, Old clothes or under & oversuit? Looking at vids online it seems an easy walkaround and not very messy.

Looking forward to it.

Tony, Old clothes or under suit are fine, what every you find most comfortable. Don't rush there we are likely to be late so no point arriving much before 11am. I will be in a black Vito Van. Thanks for the contact details.
