I purchased half a Sten light when I broke mine to get me through the dark period (pardon the pun) whilst mine (pardon the pun again) was fixed. When I bought the "half" Sten light, the other half of it came with it too. I have since fixed mine so I do have two.

I have no intention of attaching it to Woman's lid as she no longer uses it and it would serve well as a backlight except for the following;

1) I have broken my regular SLR
2) The replacement SLR is useless because I bought a new one that has LESS time with the shutter open and doesn't work as well (I didn't read the spec first :unsure:  )
3) I no longer have the said SLR - I gave it to woman
4) I have no replacement for the replacement

So, no camera to use the Sten with :blink:

How long will the shutter stay open on manual mode and can a manual release button be used to keep the shutter open for as long as I want (say, 2.5 MINS) ?

...... I am away this weekend and have stuffed a proxy bid on another camera on Ebay so, maybe interested ;)

Ian, I use a D60. Shutter will do 60 secs exposure without remote. With the remote, the shutter will stay open till the battery dies.

Sorry to hear about the car crash, but glad that you are all ok!
boydy,mike-l,crazy,linda and tim got within half an hour of the club hut when a tree jumped out and wrote the car or at around 9.30 ish. so had to call recovery out to drag the car out and take us home , got home about 4.30. bit of a shame but nobody got hurt except for a few aches and pains, car totally written off. thank god for air bags. if it had of been an old car someone (at least) would have ben killed :(  :(
What happen'd, glad everyone is OK.

Awesome weekend and a great experience!! A huge thank you to Claire and Scotty for being legends and sorting us newbies out! Cuthberts would have been a lot more dramatic if it wasn't for Claire and her endless amount of patience!

First proper Mendips experience! Bring on the next one!! :woohoo:
