The file extension tells you what type of file it is. I think you are best using an Mpeg file which will have the .mpg extension. I suggest you download Format Factory which is available free from https://format-factory.en.softonic.com/ which will convert your video file to one that is compatible with with YouTube or wherever you are trying to upload to.
