THE  BOAT

It  started  of  as  just  a  dream, to  dig  a  tunnel  the  worst  I,ve  seen
A  quarter  of  a  mile  ,to  bricks  and  rubble
Three  foot  of  water  and  loads  of  trouble
What  was  needed  to  travel  this  moat
A  thought  in  my  head,  a  flat  bottom  boat

I  got  to  work  with  glue, hammer  and  wood
This  was  the  way  forward  to  deal  with  the  mud
Eight  foot  long  and  three  foot  wide, built  to  last  built  with  pride

The  day  had  come  to  launch  this  baby, the  halkyn  queen  we  called  this  lady
Her  maiden  voyage  she  carried  three, the  proof  was  there  for  all  to  see
Her  test  of  loyalty  will  come  in  time,  if  she  gets  us  all  in  this  mine
The  weeks  they  come  the  weeks  they  go, she  glides  in  darkness  steady  and  slow

But  will  the  club help  and  fight and  keep  her  safe  within  there  light
Or  will  they  give  up  and  go,  and  leave  her there  to  sink  in  worlds  below.

We'll do our best for her murph. Just need the weather to start playing ball
