mochdre mine

hi all , just seen some of the new photos of Mochdre mine  and I remembered the shaft with 3 scaffold bars leading upwards , we didn't climb up them as looked a bit dodgy but still wondering if anybody knows what's up there / does it connect with the upper mine ( huge chamber ??

There is at least one level running off that shaft.  It's highly possible that this level comes out in the side wall of the large chamber as I reckon it's about the right height.  It's been on my "to do" list for about 2 years to go and find out...

yeah thanks for that , I think the only way to find out is to go and climb up the scaffolding poles and find out  :S

Um, It's in Mochdre    (well Llangwstenin to be precise)  Probably one for the lighter evenings or weekend as it's on private land and the landowner gets very upset when he sees lights on the hillside

I've been in from the lower entrances, that might be an idea for an evening, then we wouldn't disturb anyone?
