post subcribing

if i want to subscribe to a thread i will do so at my choosing, so why is it automatic? my email is filling up with shite threads i may have posted on ..Im bored of deleting them so could an administrator change it around where if someone wants to subscribe then they can do so if they choose at the moment as soon as you post on a thread your email in box fills up with pointless notifications ..cant we just get rid of it :kiss:

EVERYONE, You've probably spotted that there is a tick box for "Check this box to be notified of replies to this topic" just above the submit button when you type a new post?

By default this is ticked, i.e. you get emails sent to you if someone replies to a thread on the forum that you've been involved with.

Whats the general consensus here? Do you want it as it is, i.e. automatically ticked (to send emails) or unticked to not send emails? Either way, you can choose to tick/untick before pressing submit but its just a case of what most people want with regard to default selection.....

I can see pro's and con both ways - personally i set my email to sort all incoming emails to various mail folders but many people wont do this, and won't always remember to untick the option if they don't want emails.

What i'd really like is for users to be able to choose their own default for the tick box in their profile settings. But i don't think i'm clever enough to do that.....

its a ball ache but if u really want rid or them in the meantime you could just put a filter on you email.

No, you're gonna wait patiently until the developers of Kunema get back to me to see what i can do. (Which will probably be well after the next AGM!) :evil:

I've not forgotten about it. I want the developers to implement an option so that individuals can set the default for themselves.

in the meantime are you going to buy this D60?
