Hello all,

Here are the details for our next Thursday night trip;

Location : Maeshafn Mine
Meet Place : Maeshafn
Meet Date : Thursday 11th January 2024
Meet Time : 6:30pm-6:45pm
Requirements : Wellies, overalls, helmet, lamp, gloves

Notes : This is a lead mine with a “Derbyshire Key” lid. There is a squeezy section early on (4 feet) then an internal incline down to the workings. Some of the mine accepts water in wet weather and this can leave muddy water. Be prepared to need a change of clothes. Knee pads recommended.


Suitable for novices with some experience, not suitable for debut cavers.

I need to add some details for this trip.

There is a very steep muddy climb that has an in-situ hand line. After this there is a small round trip that includes crawls,squeezes, climbs

I would like to come along to Thursday's trip. I have only recently joined the club. This will be my first trip. I have already been on a couple of caving trips including P8 in Castleton. I should be Ok for kit. I would also be interested in attending an SRT course, if you have somne info? Thanks
