I'm Bryn, only just joined - so hello everyone.

I'm 32 work at sea as a mechanical engineer and have an interest in climbing and exploring new and interesting places, especially sites of industrial heritage. I'm also trying to learn a bit more about geology and why places like North Wales are the way they are (geologically speaking) though this is only a recent interest.

I'm not unfamiliar with rope work, though caving seems to be a very niche collection of techniques - that said I recently got put through my IRATA Level 1 through work so have an appreciation of things such as descent/ascent, passing deviations etc.

I'm based near Criccieth, happy to travel but do work away for months at a time - if that helps explain any absences.

Thanks for reading  :)

Hi Bryn,

We have a qualified geologist (and ex-chairman of the British Caving Association) and he is, to be fair, a whiz at the stuff.

Get involved and get yourself a great time.

Welcome bryn.

We have some interesting places for you to visit to look at some good geology.
There’s more planes in the sea than there are submarines in the sky
