Located behind Gwrych Castle. As you walk into the Castle by the main track (towards the stables), take the path leading up the side of the gate tower thingy and the adit is located in the woodland directly above.

Permission was previously not required but may be required now (Mar 09) as work is on-going to restore the area.

Description
A reasonable sized adit with a constructed doorway style entrance suggests this adit may once have been significant. However, the adit quickly becomes blocked and is likely to have been done so deliberately.

The O/S map shows shafts located close by and behind the adit and it is more than likely that these were all connected and part of the same mine.

Unexplored Passages
The entire system remains unexplored beyond the blockage.

Digs
The blockage could be dug but there is no evidence of any on-going work.
