Does anyone have a decent trailer I could borrow? Need to collect a load of railway sleepers, 8'6 long, from Wrexham.

Would only need it for a couple of hours. Beer payment on offer.

Thanks

Lee

theres my sankey but a. i'd have to tow it for you (not a problem) but b) its not long enough. I once loaded sleepers on top of it and it swayed about ready to tip over coz it ended up back heavy and even worse was also massively top heavy. Could get away with it at really low speed if you are desperate though.

Should be home wednesday night but won't be avaliable until friday daytime because i've already got stuff 'booked' all day thursday.

doug has a really good light weight trailer 10x4

Lee. have a word with doug - that would be a much better option.

My trailer is only 195cm long internally - 6'6".

They'd have to sit rigt up on top of the tub overhanging at the back like i tried once before - it was a hazard to be honest fella - swayed like crazy ready to tip over and that was just with 2 or three sleepers.

If you're struggling for towing it and/or need a hand lifting i'm still around to help of course.

All sorted, used Doug's trailer. Any idea how heavy a 8'6 solid oak railway sleeper is? Don't try it at home, Jeez.

Answer: 'kin heavy. I've a bridge in my garden made of 21 foot long sleepers, used for pointwork.
