Hi Adam / Kenton1, Welcome to the forum.  Where abouts was it? There are quite a few holes around there.  It sounds like it could be part of the Ffos y Bleiddiad lead mine system. Was it a big long ravine / open stope with a wooden bridge over? (near where the locals call hill 60) or possibly a gated entrance in the same woods where the lock has been damaged / removed? (just off Tan y Gopa Rd.)  I can't remember any brick buildings there though so would be interested in where you found it so I can go for a mooch  B)

The only other place I know of in Abergele with brick buildings in the woods is on the next mountain along (east) below Tower Hill, in which case these were isolation units used by Abergele Hospital during the TB epidemic.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Rob

Hi and thanks, sorry for the late reply lol.yes its got a tower at the top of the hill and i think thats the place your on about as there lots of old hosital bottles and stuff dumped there, at the back in the rock face there is a little crack/hole that looks like it goes nowhere but if u get in there you will see that it goes down and looks like you have to belly crawl. i may go have a proper look tomoz sometime :)   cheers for the info.

the ravine is right above the gated entrance in the rock face. Yeah it's worth looking in, just keep your eye on the floor as there are a couple of holes (not deep)
