get home 25th August (should land in Manchester 6pm so would be back home about 7pm all going well. Might just about be able to make it for a 'late' trip. (i.e. 7:30 start) Might suit me better to just turn up at the dig whenever i get there.

Will definitely be able to make the following week - 1st Sept which might be a better bet?

Back to work again after that for another two weeks before my month off.

Would you mind asking john what dates in sept?

ye there is a bed with a pillow all carved out of limestone. it was pushed into place by the glacier during the big thor, it is in the middle of a peat marsh with nothing around it
