UCET LADIES TRIP ADVISOR

Hi Ladies,

Our next trip is to Parc Mine (Level 2) it’s a general bimbling wander along the main adit to see the old workings and, if you get far enough (and know where to look) the vein of fool’s gold that sparkles with deep reds, vibrant blues and glittering gold. The mine is lead (and zinc) and is fairly extensive.

Location : Gwydyr Forest, just outside of Betws-y-Coed
Meet Place :  Hafna Car Park, Gwydyr Forest

Meet Time : 6:30pm to 6:45pm
Requirements : Wellies, Caving suit, helmet, lamp, gloves, Change of clothes, Belt/harness & cowstails

If you need to borrow a helmet or lamp, please let us know prior to the trip.

Notes : Level 2 is (mostly) an easy “walk around” mine. You are walking along an old railcart line which does have “holes” on the right hand side of the passage that drop down to the bowels of the earth â€" care should be taken.

I'll be there and will be bringing my friend Katie, who isn't in the club, but does have some underground experience. It might be worth mentioning if people want to go beyond the pumping rods, there's a couple of small traverse lines, so belt/harness & cowtails would be needed, there's also at least one crawl before the rods so would also advise bringing kneepads.

Gwyneth Williams who showed interest from FB is hoping to join us, she'll need a lamp and maybe some cowstails.

I think I'm all good for hat and lamp thanks. Just glad I found the trip as mostly explore here in Mid Wales and don't have much company. The last time I went to Park I chickened as the space between the holes got smaller and smaller
