Hi All

This is my first trip I’m posting on the Forum... If anyone feels like a nice chilled walk about on Saturday 22nd July 2023 (to compliment the trip to Cwfty on Sunday  ) you’re welcome to join me on an explore of Penarth Slate Quarry for a few hours.

Meet at the parking at 10:30am

Penarth Slate Mine
This is the little brother to the mighty Slate mine of Moel Fferna and contains the same magnificent seabed ceiling as well as a splendid circuit of chambers. Easy to navigate, this sumptuous underground delight is on two levels and contains one of the most photographed slate inclines in North Wales.

Location : Penarth Slate Mine
Meet Place : A5 near Llidiart y Parc, Grid ref: SJ310 432
Requirements : Wellies, helmet, lamp, gloves. - Walking clothes are fine, just might get a bit slate dusty.

Sounds good.  I would like to come along for this one.  Done Garreg Boeth several times so I'll give that a miss and do Penarth instead.

Absolutely, it's a great novice trip.
Have you got a helmet and lamp/ headtorch? I may struggle to get any club ones for this trip.

Thanks!
Yes I've got a helmet & headtorch from work, I'm not sure if they're suitable, they're both made by petzl.
