Howdy Doody,

Here are the details for our next Thursday night trip;

Rhyd Alyn /  The Milwr Tunnel
This is a trip through Rhyd Alyn down to the tunnel to repair both the train and the tracks.  There will be an opportunity to have a short mooch once down. There are some holes in one adit level with fixed ropes to assist (you should consider using cow’s tails across these) and you do need to be reasonably fit to get back up the ladders (about 24 of the buggers â€" it’s a long way down).

Location : Rhyd Alyn
Meet Place : Car Park by the old Chapel
Meet Date : Thursday 3rd February 2022
Meet Time : 6:30pm-6:45pm onwards
Suitability : Not suitable for novices
Requirements : Wellies, overalls, helmet, lamp, gloves, (Cow’s tails)

Link to Parking: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.182912,-3.2035865,3a,75y,203h,71.85t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sW23B7Ga2vskautwtwgHXrQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?hl=en-GB

The trip involves a substantial amount of adit passageway (perhaps a kilometre in total), the entrance will see water go over your wellies and the level after the first section of ladders will see water over your knees. It is likely (due to the time of year) that there will be water falling down the laddered stopes in the bottom quarter of the laddered descent. Going down 24 ladders isn’t so difficult â€" going back up them is â€" please keep that in mind.

Thanks !

See you soon…..

:)

I’ll be there. We will need some spades to help clear the track

Great Doug. We need a mechanic to attend so this would be awesome. We have a battery. We may need a new isolator switch and some battery terminals. I’ll get the battery of Mike we need some new fuel and a tub to get rid of the old fuel. And some spades

why dont we get some old rag in an tin and burn the old fuel, what could be wrong with the isolation switch.
