A couple of us will be North Wales/Snowdonia way this weekend and next week. We're both experienced [strike]doggers[/strike] mine explorers from Cornwall... Any happy holers heading out into the wilderness who would be up for taking us out? Promise the ankle bracelets are deactivated!
Realzies though, heard you were a good bunch of weirdie beardies and would be well up for having a chin wag.
CBC lads ?
;)

yarp!
I'll see what we can do ... leave it with me for a short while :)
We have a "legend" caver member who is going to pop down to the Milwr tunnel on Thursday evening to see what the water levels are like.
All things being "ok" we could put a trip on for you on Sunday.
440feet (ish) of ladders stretched over 1-2 kilometres of lead mine to reach the start of the "good stuff". Cow's tails would be a good idea but there is no SRT.
Failing that, you are welcome to come on out regular Thursday night trip(s) if you are still here.
:)
Ian
MT sounds epic, cheers. Shouldn't be a problem meeting you there on sun...
Speaking of, where's rendezvous? Any ideas on time? Is it wet/dry? Shall I bring my frilly undies?
Let us check the levels first (on Thursday).
Water will go over your wellies at the entrance (one of the usual buggeration factors) then it is dry for almost a kilometre with little splashes of water here and there. The next level down has water that will go to the knees or a bit higher. Then it is dry all the way to the tunnel.
MT itself will be heavy and could go waist deep. We'll probably go up and not down which will keep the water level knee deep (hopefully).
We should be able to confirm that after Thurs.
:)

Cheers Ian, will watch this thread.
I'll be going regardless of water levels

That'll be our Legend I mentioned
You shouldn't believe everything you read on a tee shirt
Why not?
Do we not trust and embalm the sacred writings?
Are contracts not sealed with a pen?
Is the very fabric of truth not woven into our very existence (and Tee shirts)?
Ian
You read too much

A couple of things ....
Firstly, I am "doubtful" for the trip (infection, sorry). I will still try to make it but these things get worse before they get better - antibiotics take 2-3 days to kick in.
Secondly, because of this .... is there anyone who could make the trip with Mike please? It's down RA and then up the tunnel to see the workings (so no stupidly long time in the water fighting for life and limb).
Thirdly, the meet point is the Old Antelope pub car park here;

Bit of a bummer to report... Our handsomely paid secretary has cocked up with the schedule and won't be able to make it tomorrow! :( Really friggin keen as well... Been on the radar and wanted to do for ages.
Won't be the last time we're up though. Potential we'll be around first half of next year.
Always welcome in cornwall if you guys like your road trips!
Crocs out.
Good news I wll be able to make it Thursday 2 November, looking forwadr to seeing you then! :)
