Title: Swaledale Mines

Visited some mines in Gunnerside Gill, Swaledale on Saturday on a trip organised through Adit Now.  The main trip was into Sir Francis Level which is a long walk, much of it through chest deep water to a chamber containing some interesting winding gear.  This was followed by a walk up to the Bunton (or Bunting) Level for a short walk in there.

I will be in the Yorkshire Dales this weekend, staying at Helwith Bridge.  My next Thursday off will be 20 July.
