Hi all.
Here is this weeks trip details. Further explore of mines at back of Gwyrch Castle in Abergele. SRT is required although we don't know how big (or small) these mines are.
Trip: Abergele/Llanddulas
Trip Type: Mooch at back of Gwyrch Castle (SRT) then maybe easy caving in Llanddulas depending on time.
Meet Point: Park in large clearing opposite castle gates, just beyond Abergele Golf Club.

Meet Time: 7.00pm

I'm in :)
When we had a look, the hole before the main shaft was about 28m deep and we managed to rig from a big tree with a 33m rope. The main shaft a short distance away may be a tad deeper, but you should manage with 35-40m rope max.
Looks like a big (but worthwhile) dig to me - Might need careful management of spoil :-)
Would be interested to hear about what you find...
Dave
Awesome idea.
This has been called off due to lack of interest. I will go to the meet point for 7pm just in case. Will re-arrange for the new year.
Don't know about other people but I am a bit busy with Christmas at the moment but I will definitely be up for a trip straight after the New Year on Thursday the 5th of January. See you then, Greg.
I was at the meet point for 7pm as promised. Two potential new members turned up after seeing the trip posted on the forum. (some of you may remember Adrian who joined us for a trip to Mochdre mine, Poachers and a project we were working on near Maeshafn)
I have just emailed a link to the membership form to him, as him and his son are interested in joining. :woohoo:
