Potential New Ground
On a Sunday jaunt with Steve and Lyndsey we were about to enter the boss chamber (normal route) whereupon the flooded passageway immediately to the left as you enter the boss chamber was noted to be dry.
Having never seen it dry and not previously being able to get past the water - I went to have a look.
I managed to get a fair distance, through a hole and along a crawl bit where a large boulder was hindering the passageway - then it got a bit too squeezy for me.
However, the whole passageways was like a clean washed Yorkshire pot (hum, well, maybe not).
It was, though, howling a gale through there .... would beat Murf's chimney any day of the week ....
Ooooooooh
:)

Excellent! There seems to be a lot of movement under the Alyn Valley of late :)
i know were i;m going next thursday then ;) ;)
i'm fairly sure ive been in there when there was water in there or maybe it's the other one past the boss . can't remember
I will see you on my return from the exploring the passage which I will have entered at 3.0. pm on Thursday
if not out of the side passage by 6.30 pm then take it that it is as long as OHA, MICK
Now guys,
should be careful reporting this on an open forum as the NRW might think someone has been digging without permission :woohoo:
Still, this is very interesting news - I have wondered about that passage myself, but not having gills have avoided it. I now have a module for my X310 and so assuming I don't bog soldering it in then I will have a decent surveying tool. But there are three projects before anything in poachers...

It was a flooded passage that is now devoid of water - there is no digging, just exploring
If it's the passage I think it is, and if I'm not mistaken, it heads further under the mountain above the carpark at Cilcain bridge :woohoo: so heading in the right direction for it to be something interesting!
Hmmmmmm :woohoo:
New ground confirmed tonight (Thurs 15th) .... Report to follow by the first person to enter the new passage ..... ;)
