I,m known to cavers as mick the mole
I dig and tunnel its in my blood
I don,t eat worms I just eat grub

I work all day with spade and pick
I stop for lunch and then feel sick
I walk the rails a sudden slip
it dumps my arse into the grip

I,ve lost my way I,ve lost all hope
I seem to climb and endless stope
then in the distance the mouth appears
the glint of daylight elays my fears

its in my heart its in my soul
it,s now the Dee becomes my goal
I,m swept along towards the sea
here comes daylight and now I,m free
