We caved all day in worlds below
the rope hangs there its up we go
I.m like a monkey on a stick
going up slow not so quick
i.m cold and wet and feeling sick


half way up i.m truly knackered
like a fish out of water bruised and battered
i.m almost there i.m gasping for air
caked in mud including my hair
i.m at the top my energy spent


all this crap to make the ASCENT
