So last Thursday we joked about starting a club band. This evening I thought I'd dust a couple of guitars off and have a play about. Sadly 6 years of work and general ridiculousness has got in the way of music and the result is, well, harsh on the ears to say the least.
I set everything up in the lounge as the music room is freezing. Wrote a patch for the POD HD500 to try and emulate the sound of Great Gig In The Sky by Pink Floyd. So confident was I that things were going to sound awesome, that I even set a camera up to record it.
Well it turned out more awful than awesome.
What the hell, thought I'd post it up for you all to giggle at anyway, and as a bench mark for improvement.

When we having our first gig?
Haha, Pretty bad isn't it! Got some footage from 2006 somewhere of me playing when it sounded a lot better (but still pretty bad) I'll have to dig it out, It's on a mini DV tape so I'll have to grab it into a more modern format when I find it. I bet we have a few members who play something if ever you fancy a meet (piss) up B)
Sounds ok to me, I wish I could make noises like that
Is that the spaghetti guitar.
Very cool B)

No, the lap steel at the start of the video is a 1970 ish Jagard in original sparkly paint. They were only built between 1969 - 1975 so it's a pretty rare one. They do crop up on eBay from time to time.
The red and white one is a common as muck Fender Strat and is the only guitar I own which is completely original.
The one I built with dried spaghetti for frets doesn't have any strings on it at the moment.

Prob'ly done this wrong again, but agree with Doug. A spaghetti guitar would be something to behold too - crack on!

This is a public forum, be aware the RSPCA may be watching
All safe on the cats guts. Strings need to be metallic for the pick-ups to sense the movement in their magnetic field. More to the point, are you joining us tonight Ant? Could do with knowing so I know which van to venture out in... Ta
