Hi All,
We are trying to arrange a trip for a new member of the club (Mike K - aka "Madmike")
I am posting on his behalf as Tim has done something really strange with his user account and having just got back from the wilds of the North Sea, probably has something else on his mind for the first few hours (possible one hour, actually possibly 20mins?)
Mike is from Nuneaton but is in North Wales for the weekend and, having joined the club, would like to get underground (he is moving to Wales in the new year).
Unfortunately I am away in the Lakes that weekend (poor excuse, it's my wife's birthday and our anniversary). I am also aware of the Yorkshire trip on the 15th too.
I am sure Mike will make a post himself as soon as Tim has unravelled his FUBAR but in the interim, is anyone free for a simple wander (No SRT) in a mine in the Gwydyr forest (or a nearby mine) ....
Thanks :)
Ian
Busy all weekend I'm afraid. Is it just the 14th/15th he is available? Could do Parc level 2 on Friday 13th if no-one else shouts up...

Bloody hell, you're just as bad as Doug putting family stuff before caving, this practice must stop ;)
I'm working Saturday and in Yorkshire on the Sunday.
Updated dates to read;
13th (Friday)
14th (Saturday)
15th (Sunday-maybe)

I can still do Parc on Friday if Mike K and anyone else fancies it too? Does he have a belt / harness and cowstails? The only other mine I know reasonable well in that area is Cae Coch but I can't be arsed looking like I've been tango'd for a week after.
Could do with knowing ASAP (tomorrow latest really)
............
I can't do sat either and we've got Yorkshire (Derbyshire) on Sunday. Sweeties offer for Friday looks the best bet.
So Mike, Have you done any caving before? Do you know much about Parc Mine (i.e. balls deep freezing water, lots of opportunity to plummet to your death, lots of big boulders being held up high above your head by hopes and dreams and you'll come out caked in shite and bright orange etc.) ?
I'm happy to do either Parc Mine near llanrwst or Llangwstenin Limestone Mine (Not in the Gwydyr but only a mile from Llandudno Junction)
Llangwstenin Mine is a pretty straightforward walk in/out, dry, clean mine with no hanging death and very limited opportunity to break a fingernail etc. you can get away with old clothes / overalls, helmet and light.
It's completely up to you though. :woohoo:
could do with meeting at the carpark at the start of the Marin Mountain Bike Trail just over the bridge in Llanrwst for 9.30am ish if we're doing Parc or 10am ish at Llandudno Junction McDonalds if we're doing Llangwstenin B)
I'll be heading there from the Holywell area if anyone fancies coming and wants a lift?
This is awesome, thanks Sweetie ... :)
Is this happening tomorrow Mike?
Gone
