Title: forum glitch
Post by: Philip Scott on Jun 08, 2015, 03:21 PM
Hi

I've noticed recently that when searching "recent topics" on the forum, it does not always come up with the most recent - instead giving me content from about 2-4 weeks back.

This can be after I've just received email notification to say that someone has replied to a thread I've commented on, so there really is recent content that Im unable to view.

Other times it's when I'm looking for upcoming trips ("recent topics" seemed to be the best way of finding them) and it appears that nothing's on.

Any ideas?

can't repeat that error here at present...? Clear browser cache etc on you computer? are you using something like  zenmate or similar VPN perhaps?

Anyone else got this problem??

(I know this sounds dumb but you are looking at the dates on the right hand side for 'last post' and not the dates towards the middle which are the ones when the thread was started...?

I'm using Safari on a Mac, and a techie friend tells me that the cache thing you mention is less likely with what I'm using.

Annoyingly, since posting the thread, the forum has loaded OK (well, not annoyingly, but..)

Pretty sure I'm looking at the correct dates..... in any case if I've started a new topic or thread and an hour later it's not appearing on "recent topics" - that's my indication something might be wrong

Thanks Tim

I have noticed at times that the members section does not load.

I'm still convinced that the "trips & events" section is linked to the rostering system at my place of work, and suitably rigged so that whenever I'm free the choice is always a bloody Yorkshire cave
