Title: Tims Landy
Post by: Tim Watts on Feb 18, 2015, 07:53 PM
I know many of you have risked life and limb climbing aboard the 'landy', 'passion wagon', 'batty bus' - its been called all kinds.

Well as you mostly all know it finally (and as expected) broke its back last year pulling the BCA cave trailer back up the cat and fiddle last year after doing the shows.

Its been undergoing some relatavily major surgery the last few weeks and here are some of the photos of the tear down and rebuild.

Rebuilding on a brand new fully galvanised chassis, with a new new galvanised bulkhead, all new springs and shockers (with additional 2" of lift), all new brakes, all new bushes, new diff seals, new B posts, new poer steering box, even a new starter motor (clutch i;d already just done anyway).

If you have to come to Swindon for it then you ought to come on over to Mendip for caves, and beer...
It's not too far.

I'd go for florescent yellow. Black will make it hard to find in the dark- and camo hard to find in the woods.

I'm at Ashton Under Lyne most weeks buying stock Tim if you want a lift, it's pretty much en-route.  I usually go on a Monday but can do any day with notice.

there was years left in that old chassis...

Potentially years left in the bulkhead and b posts - both of which i'll refurb, then get galvi'd and sell on. Decent bulkheads repaired and galvi'd are going for best part of a grand.

B posts £300-400

Sweetie - my geography ain't good but the swinton i'm on about is N.E. of sheffield.

Swinton
Mexborough,
South Yorkshire S64 8BH

If thats the place you're thinking of then yer magic a monday would be perfect but i suspect you're heading just east of manc and it'd be well out of your way? That said - if you fancy a jaunt i'll pay your diesel :-)

Gizza shout when you need to go and I'll see where I'm heading. Regularly do a haribo run to pontefract and a run to chesterfield so quite often in that neck of the woods. I have customers in Buxton and Bakewell so up there every 5 weeks or so

righto - i'll let you know. basically wanna get over there as soon as i get home (due home eve of wed 4th). To be fair though its cheaps as chips on the train and its only a really short walk from the station.

The matt black looks pretty menacing, so that gets my vote ;)

Stick the spare wheel on the bonnet to look like a head and then cover the whole thing in wool. Then you have your very own sheep!

shes back together waiting for me. MOT'd, re-insured at Taxed from Thursday next week (day i'm due home!) :-)

Yee haaa!!

Got some little extras to go on (power increases), and the body work to get started on now!

Only problem is i need to invest in some stupidly big wheels/tyres now to fill that 2" lift!

:-)
