wife car fooked while i'm offshore.

From what i can determine the sump is now dry - it smoked like mad on and off for a bit (burning off its oil) she got it back to the end of our road - from chester - before oil light (low pressure) came on and also ECU light and it stopped with a bang.

Turbo seals are not suspected - its most likely been gummed up piston rings coz she only does a mile or two at time on the school run and these little 1.5Dci 9k9 engines are mega prone to it - think she's been running out of oil for a month or two since i last checked the dip stick. Not helped by the fact that the dash oil level indication is not working (its still reading oil level ok even though the sump is now empty!)

Mates had a quick look and recons a valves dropped or something - which is a bit odd, timing belt is still intact so probable head damage (at least) but bottom end will need pulling apart if nothing else to check the rings.

So, looking for a man to do an engine strip/rebuild. I do have a mate who owns a engine machine shop in warrington (Headshop UK) but they don't mechanic on them - just the basic block and head rebuilds.

anyone recommend someone who would pick up the job for sensible money?

Tempted to either do a scappy engine swap myself or a strip and rebuild myself but need it done quick and i'm a) away at work and b) booked up with loads of stuff when i get home.

Highly recommend PJ Rallying (don't let the name put you off) he's on the industrial estate in Denbigh. He gave me loads of free advice when I turbo'd my Mini and he rebuilt my Vectra engine when the water pump seized and snapped the cam belt.
