Title: Easy/Short climbing?
Post by: Tom Howard on Aug 23, 2013, 09:58 PM
Just thought i'd put a request out for anybody who may either fancy a play on the climbing wall of a weeknight or fancy some easy climbs locally. I wouldn't mind making it an almost regular thing but just to do a little more would be good :) If anybody's up for it let me know :) Of course, weather isn't all too good at the moment, but we don't let that dampen spirits :P

TLH.

Yep, Only just got into this climbing malarky so as long as I'm free (work permitting) I'd certainly be up for it.

Welshsossy (Sorry I don't think I've actually met you to know your real name), I'm only a newbie into climbing, been only three or four times seconding up lead climbs and then the rest has been bouldering. I tend to work strange hours, everyday is different but would like to when I can.

Dan, up near Minera is Plas Power climbing centre, the biggest wall in North Wales apparently. I've only been the once due to never having anybody to get into it with :( Although the is warrington nearer to you and other places perhaps... havent looked into it properly.

I like the idea of outdoor more but I just thought the indoor may be easier for less gear needed etc.

Tom.

Plas Power is ok - used to be a member there about 6 years ago. Manchester climbing centre is better and as mentioned, warrington is also better and is half way for you both.

If you fancy Plas Power give me a shout - or i can lead some routes at Maeshafn, pothole etc. Or then there are some sports climbs local to me that are decent too - without being too hard.

As you know - when i'm off - i'm off - but my life seems to be unexpectedly filled with random shite - best thing is to just give me and others a nudge when you have some free time).

for some easy outdoor climbs the Walton quaries up rivington are pretty good theres plenty of choice and the walls stay pretty dry most of the time also an anglezark up rivi is pritty good aswel but all get really busy . Obviously if your based in Wales its a long way to travel.
