Title: Bodelwyddan Lead Mines
Post by: Robin Jones on Jul 16, 2013, 11:23 PM
Does anyone know anything about these.  Took a photo of one of the shafts earlier, which is on the land of Bodelwyddan Castle.

Funnily enough, I was just looking at that one the other day...

According to CPAT (where NWMAT pull the text from) it looks like the stone portal under that growth? CPAT is *not* always accurate, but does well for "go here, look for stuff"

The structure in the photo is what I believe to be "new engine shaft" and is right in the middle of the car park.  The portal is, so I'm told, in a field near the St Asaph business park.

Nope, still on the ever-growing to-do list.  I would imagine these workings are very soggy at best but probably completely flooded  :(
