I'm up for that! Is it a full day trip or can we tie it in with something else?

Iestyn - I'd say a half day, and it will be wet. Waders or Neoprene are a must.
Steve. I'll have a look-see if You want. Fancy texting/PM'ing me where it is?
Will go down the Gwenfro, if going by boat :silly:
Noticed there are a few culverts along the canal, an potentially intresting one being near the sun trevor pub, especially as I see no evidence of where it re-emerges.
wait a couple of weeks and do it mid week and i'll come! :-)
Tim, please can you fix the forum to display pictures properly.
every picture i look at has half of it cropped off, it doesnt automatically resize pictures like it used to.
Isn't there a steel works or somthing in the wrexham area we could have a look at while we're there? Or is that a no-go area by now?
It has been done. See http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/underground-sites/74107-search-wrexham-tunnels-september-2012-a.html
That is the Gwenfro, forgot to quote newstuffs post :pinch:

The huge dump truck, obviously!! And those rather nice chimney things :)
The original steel works. At least it was back in December ;)

If there is a huge dump truck involved, count me in for that part. I don't do drains / culverts.
To quote her indoors "that's where rats and moles live, people live above ground"

Is she aware of the fact that you go caving ;)
I've done loads of drains and i can honestly say i've never seen a single rat.
i spotted one in a culvert in bolton, and several hundreds if not thousends in an old rice mill in Liverpool, it was rank, never seen so many rats in one place in my life.

ye ye ye just because you were in LIVERPOOL does'nt mean you can refere to them as rats
Ant89 - I didn't realise someone had done the whole thing, or near as damnit, there's more downstream he didn't get. Nevertheless, I'm still doing it.
Sweetie - No rats. I've done a bit of it, and walk past it twice a day, never seen one. Bollock deep water and rails are about all You need to worry about.
Tim - It will be midweek, a wednesday or thursday most likely. There's also scope for a spot of SRT/climbing practice at my local playground or somewhere like trevor rocks.
lol, Honestly, we walked into the workshops, you could not see the floor or the benchs for rats, it was like a sea fur, they didnt even run (thank god as we were stood in the only doorway)
rotten.

If it's in the Easter hols I'll be up for it. I'm not too bothered about wildlife / vermin anyway
Ant89 - I usually forget to tell her I'm going caving unless I'm using her as an emergency call out ;)
Dan - The most rats I've ever seen in one places is when they knocked the old ASDAs down in Llandudno to build the new Parc Llandudno shopping complex. I think 40% of the UK rat population were living there!
Oh, all the overgrown vegetation in the first picture on that 28DL thread is gone now. There's some regeneration by the WDA on a site immediately adjacent to the first culverted part of the stream (Under Brook street... it's stoopy, especially if You're over 6foot).
Oh, and the fish, I'm fairly sure, are brown trout. There's usually some ducks kicking around near St Giles too, with the occasional Heron thrown in for good measure, just to keep the trout on their toes, well, fins possibly.
Ali. lets mske it so.
hey hew stuff you should have gone to spec savers brown trout my arse don,t you know the differance turds are the same size and colour the specules in turds are corn as it doe,s not break down and if its moving well get the fu.k out of there that radon gas can do strange things to turds.

Tesco are cheaper... Titanium frames, the works. :P
Tim, and anyone else interested, are you around Wrexham Weds or Thurs next week? Although I'm off Easter Sunday, I'd probably get shot for suggesting I go elsewhere. Assuming it's not going like he clappers (it does flood, and I sure as shit don't want to be in it when it does).
I will need to be in Wrexham for half 2ish though, I have to pick the Daughter up from School.

No worries, we'll sort something then.
Tim, I should be free on the 4th if that fits in with You? What do we do afterwards... I can't see the Gwenfro taking more than a couple of hours.
