BUT i don't want to be dangling 500ft down a cliff on a rope screaming for my life, p1ssing my self, whilst everyone above and below are videoing it and laughing. (I also don't want to go to wales (no offence but its a bit far just in-case i don't like it),
So maybe something like a walk in/ walk out, no tight spaces, not much water and nothing which requires cave rescue when i get stuck.
I don't think its much to ask. (Oh I don't think).
I am based in South Yorkshire, nearer Nottingham then York,
So who wants to show me "the ropes" (or walk in/out)
I know this is a welsh based forum but i cant find any for Yorkshire, (but i am willing to come to manchester if any one lives that way and can give me a lift to welshland)
Thanks
(MODS if in wrong place please move, if doesnt make sence, please delete)
PS. ii ask what i want and i dont like beating around the bush.

a couple of our lads live a bit closer so im sure they will cherp up and give you a lift
there are mines around derbyshire, one which is easy enough to access is holme bank near bakewell, you are supposed to get permision off the land owner, but i'm sure there will be someone of 28dl who knows where the back door into the place is.
I'm in manchester but dont have any free weekends for a few weeks, i've got a couple of trips which are not suitable for for the inexperanced, then i have my son on his SRT training, as he's 13 he's not insured to take the car his self, so i'll be having to drive him to wales and back for the 3 weekends that the training takes.
you could maybe try derbyshire caving club who do do some mines, you could also go on UK Caving if you want a look at a cave, i'm sure you would find someone on there that would take you on a yorkshire caving trip
28DL know the back door into everywhere. i believe one of the members got inside Buck palace, he was banned and reported to the police. what are the links for the above 2 sites u mentioned

uk caving actually have a forum area just for people to ask for lifts and caving partners, as i say, there's a few off here from around manchester, but for the useual trip to wales we leave at 7am - 7.30am so you would have tosetoff quite early

No point coming with us then lol :woohoo:
i dont mind p1ssing my self or beinging laughed at its the videoing whats putting me off it tbh
Well, that rules out trips with me then lol

i can vouch for this too.. lol.
i dont mind anyof it tbh apart from the 500ft. 300 would be fine though lol
Scrap that 500ft fine as long as i am not left dangling
I don't get on with heights at all (Seriously, ask anyone on here that's seen me dropping into Fferna, and that's only 40ft). I do go out when I can manage it, and at no point have I been pressured into anything I don't want to do.
I'm a *lot* better than I was before joining UCET, and I dare say I will get less uneasy around them as time goes on. It's no small feat, and without decent people around You, it's not possible, so credit to everyone I've been out with that I have improved as much as I have.
In short, they are a good bunch, don't sweat it. You will be encouraged, but not pressured.
not pressured?? "Get your ass down there!"
As a starter, Alderley Edge copper mines are a good little explore. A good beginners cave would be Peak ( tourist route) or P8 both in Derbyshire. Or there is Upper and Lower long churn in YOrkshire, and a few others :-)

I was told that was "encouragement", and not Pressure until you get clipped on and flung down... :P
There are plenty of easy slate mines in the area, hendre spar mine and a couple of metal mines. Poachers and nadolig caves which are suitable for a beginner.
Sorry this was meant for a different threat.
